Is your life messy? These four steps can clean up the crap and give your life a new shine.
1. Clean Up Your Home
Your casa can elevate a great mood or enfold you into a mojo sucking whirlpool of doldrums. A little dramatic but my point is your home can be crucial to a happy healthy lifestyle.
There is nothing worse than coming home after a busy day to a messy dirty house, or waking up in the morning to piles of dishes and garbage. Not the happy inspired environment you should and could be living in.
If there was ever a good reason to clean your house (although there are dozens), how about eliminating some of the stress in your life? The initial cleaning of it might be stressful but the end result will be worth it
Love begins at home, and it is not how much we do... but how much love we put in that action.
It’s time to grab the garbage bags and the cleaning bucket. Spend a weekend cleaning up, throwing out and donating to a good cause. Be ruthless with the crap that has built up over time and put some muscle behind that scrubbing.
Once you have a clean slate then it’s time to add a few touches to make your home the relaxing inspiring haven it should be. New bed linen, flowers or furniture are easy ways to bring new life to your environment. Get a little crafty to save on dollars or if you have the funds then maybe look at a little renovation rescue.

2. Clean Out your Contact Lists
We all have that person (or group) that take more than they give. We call them Happy Snatchers or Energy Thieves. Catch-ups are spent listening to endless negative diatribes of what is wrong with their world. They borrow, ask for and expect more than most of your friends, never returning the favour or sometimes even the borrowed item. An acquaintance that is beneficial to only one side of the relationship.
We keep these people in our lives more out of a sense of obligation or guilt than a genuine reciprocating friendship. It can even be easier to continue this relationship than face the fall out of speaking up or breaking off.
So how do we cut these crappy people from our lives?
Start with being brutally honest. – Some people really don’t recognize their own toxic tendencies or their inconsiderate behaviour. You can actually tell a person, “I feel like you ignore me until you need something.” You can also be honest if their overly negative attitude is what’s driving you away: “I’m trying to focus on positive things. What’s something good that we can talk about?” It may work and it may not, but your honesty will ensure that any friendship that continues forward is built on mutually beneficial ground.
Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity.
After the honest chat, if there is no change, then you need to walk away from this negative influence in your life. Life is too short to spend with people who make you unhappy. Respect yourself enough to only surround yourself with people who reciprocate your love care and positivity.
Say goodbye and move on.
3. Clean Up Your Attitude
Your attitude sets the theme of your days. A bad or negative attitude will taint all the positive assets of your life. Some examples may include:
Denial – not accepting our present reality, its potential consequences, or taking steps to prepare for the worst.
Giving up – allowing ourselves to lose hope in the possibility of things working out for good, and instead becoming pessimistic.
Escapism – allowing distractions to take priority, rather than giving time and energy to address the issues at hand.
Isolation – withdrawing and not seeking support, advice and encouragement from those around us.
Blame – failing to take responsibility for our part in a situation we find ourselves in, and pointing the finger at others.
Your attitude is an absolutely your choice.
Starting right now clean out any thoughts that are unconstructive, pessimistic, damaging or depressive. Make the decision to be the best person you can be. Be proud positive and constructive in your thoughts.
Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.
Start you day in the right head space by waking up with a smile and continue to smile throughout your day. Be grateful and inspired by the wonderful people in your life. Don’t let the small stuff get you down. Let your attitude dictate your emotions… not letting your emotions dictate your attitude.

You encounter fewer obstacles and difficulties in your daily life.
It produces more energy.
It helps you achieve goals and attain success.
It brings more happiness into your life.
You become able to inspire and motivate yourself and others.
You get more respect and love from people.
Life smiles at you.
Positive attitude increases your faith in your abilities, and brings hope for a brighter future.
A good attitude is a lifestyle choice that requires ever-vigilant attention and consistent effort.
4. Clean Up Your Schedule
How much time do you waste or spend on things that don’t make you feel good? Night after night in front of the TV, iPad or computer. Of a morning do you sleep late and spend the next half hour in a stressful panic trying to get out the door? Do you get the Sunday night blues as another weekend has passed you by where you haven’t achieved anything?
Or you could be on the crazy flip side with a schedule busting at the seams with work, social and activity commitments. Your too busy to be exhausted because you still have to organise that thing, whilst you collect that, but you can fit it in after you game or maybe after you catch up with so and so…. Burn Out Warning!
Until you value yourself, you will not value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it.
